News Brief: Posters telling women where to walk removed from haredi London neighborhood

September 21, 2014 8:50am (JTA) — Posters in English and Yiddish telling women which side of the road they can walk on were removed from a haredi Orthodox neighborhood in London. “Women should please walk along this side of the road only,” read the signs posted in the Stamford Hill area of north London, the Jewish Chronicle reported. Brooklyn, NY – After not even registering with the Campaign Finance Board until after the first filing deadline, Democratic candidate for Councilman in the 48th District, Chaim Deutsch, has raised eyebrows by topping the fund-raising money list during the second filing period.
